Description:
The Specimen Accessioner's primary responsibilities are to:
- Data entry: enter specimen information into laboratory information system (LIS).
- The individual will be trained on usage of key functions and will take on the responsibilities. We seek an individual who is generally technology savvy and has a willingness to learn.
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
- Completes all paperwork required to process and submit specimens.
- Coordinate with clinics, hospitals, etc. for sample submission process
- Follows standard sequences/coding when entering data and corrects, edits, and/or verifies data.
- We do not require prior technical experience, but we seek an individual who is generally technology savvy (excel) and has a strong interest in learning and mastering the laboratory information system.
- High School Diploma required, Associate Degree, a plus
- 1-2 years' experience in laboratory accessioning, a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills fostering a positive environment
- Effective communication with all levels of staff
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Previous medical office, diagnosis laboratory experience preferred
