Classification: Accounting Clerk
Compensation: $14.25 to $16.50 hourly
Are you looking to contribute your skills at a well-respected organization as an Accounting Clerk? An Accounting Clerk is needed by a department to support its daily operations. This position is available through Robert Half. The Accounting Clerk will match invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to full-time position located in the Waterloo, Iowa area.
Major responsibilities
- Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
- Harmonize discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Aid Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
- Organize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
- Upload financial information to journals and ledgers
- Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
- Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- 2+ years of relevant experience- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- QuickBooks experience desired
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
