Classification: Accounts Payable Clerk
Compensation: $19.95 to $23.10 hourly
Robert Half is searching through applicants for a skilled Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk that thrives in a fast-paced environment and looking for a 6 week contract / temporary position at a well-established company in the Logistics industry. A successful Accounts Payable Clerk will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. This position requires people who have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of accounting and its principles, hands on, and the ability to think on your feet. Based out of the Long Beach, California area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary opening.
Your responsibilities
- Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling
- Help with internal and external audits as required
- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
- Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
- Complete special projects on an as-needed basis
- Implement full-cycle A/P
- Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
- Great attention to detail
