Classification: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 hourly
At Robert Half, there's a terrific opportunity in the Manufacturing industry for an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) detail oriented to join a dynamic, up-and-coming organization. In this position, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Lansing, Michigan area.
Major responsibilities
- Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
- Square bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in diverse ledgers
- Identify delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, written correspondence, phone contact, and making arrangements for payment
- Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
- Corroborate documents and codes
- Compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports and take care of payments in compliance with GAAP
- Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Efficient in ERP systems
- Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired
