Job Title: Chief Engineer
Duration: 6 mo possible extensions
Location: Remote start, eventually sitting onsite in CLT, NC / Richardson, TX / Jacksonville, FL
Day to Day:
- Collabera is looking for a Chief Engineer to support a banking enterprise. This person will support specific initiatives/projects, with a project/queue-based workflow.
- Take the biz requirement, figure out the solution, design and help implement solution.Understanding of F5, GTM (global traffic mgmt), LTM (local traffic mgmt), load balancing, network and server resiliency and redundancy, fail over strategies and techniques, Linux, Windows, SQL (not a DBA or SA, just understand how they work), Conversational knowledge of AMQ, JBoss, IIS, SQL, Data centers (NAS, SAN).
Must Haves:
- 10-15 yrs experience/Jack of all trades with the following:
- Servers, storage, middleware, standard stack of web app and database configurations, load balancing, cloud virtualization
More specifics:
- F5, GTM (global traffic mgmt), LTM (local traffic mgmt)
- Network and server resiliency redundancy
- Fail over strategies techniques
- Linux, Windows, SQL, (not a DBA or SA, just understands how they work)
- Conversational knowledge of AMQ, JBoss, IIS, SQL

- Design or engineering experience of standard stack/or three tiered environment.
- Proactive/self-starter/assertive
- Blend of tech savvy and business acumen (tech>business acumen)

- Former Banking consultant/employee is a HUGE plus.
