Our client is looking for a Claims Examiner to join their team.

Tools and/or software will they be utilizing:

  • Microsoft office programs, AWD, multiple other administration programs and claims systems.

Ideal Candidate:
This role will be reviewing and processing life insurance claims. As a Life Claims Specialist, the candidate will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, interpretation and claim decision for life claims. The candidate will be reliable, customer service oriented, have an attention to detail as well as meeting production goals and be able to process complex claims.

Hours, Lunch:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Some flexibility in start/end time. Standard is 8am-4:30pm CST
  • 45 minute lunch with option to combine 15 minute break during the day to the lunch.
  • Temp, but the skills learned could set that person up for full time work perhaps on Life team or other claims teams.



The Role
As a Life Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, interpretation and payment/denial of life claims with sound and impartial claim judgments with guidance. Your overall responsibility for managing life claims in an ethical manner, ensuring quality decisions, accurate benefit calculations, and timely, proactive communication w/ claimants and employers. You will deliver customer satisfaction and meet defined standards of performance including time service, response time, productivity and quality.

1-3 years experience; Reviews, evaluates and processes claims and makes recommendations for resolution. Has contact with agents, claimants, and policy holders.

Responsibilities
Claims

  • Investigates, evaluates, interprets and determines life claims with sound and impartial claim judgments based on contract language and policy provisions.
  • Investigate the data on the claim form and other documents, such as death certificate, amount of coverage, type of coverage, beneficiary, name, address, age, etc.
  • Reads and correctly interprets life insurance contract, medical records, police reports, etc.

Communication

  • Correspond with beneficiaries, group, brokers and/or account managers to obtain information or inform them of claim status or changes.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve pertaining to specific claim issues.
  • Compose business correspondence to beneficiary and group related to life claim.
