DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring research (news from the bench, collaborations, manufacturing, discovery, etc.) resonates with current and potential audiences. Serves as the point-person for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives and activities to grow awareness, attract investors, partners and supporters. Initiatives may include, but are not limited to campaigns, marketing and communications platforms.

JOB DUTIES:
  • The Marketing Manager works independently, collaborating with clients (employer services team) and the Marketing and Communications teams to leverage all content distribution channels and monitors industry trends – research, education, centers of excellence – to identify unique aspects and competitive advantage.
  • Meets regularly with key stakeholders and research leadership to understand needs for business growth (e.g. partnership leads, conversion for shared services and core facilities) and awareness building, establishing success metrics.
  • Ideal candidate is a detail-oriented marketing expert with the ability to process information quickly, identifying key concepts and translate them into meaningful messages for employers and their employees.
  • The Marketing Manager is well-versed in the fundamentals of communications, advertising and branding and has a strong working knowledge of print, media and digital campaigns, database marketing and analytics, drives results and measures impact.
  • As part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Marketing Manager will assist in the achievement of departmental goals relating to content management, web content, digital marketing, social media, and serves as the liaison between Employer Services Operations and Marketing Communications to facilitate content deployment both internally and externally.
  • The Marketing Manager will write original copy as needed; coordinate, assess and edit copy produced by team members to be effective and appropriate for use in materials (including the web) directed to employers, employees and other target audiences.
  • The following skills are necessary for this position: understanding of traditional and digital marketing strategies, project management using best practices, clear understanding of the marketplace, ability to write and edit copy, problem-solving skills, creativity/innovative approaches to issues, and sound judgment.
  • The person in this position must also be able to deliver superb client service and be an excellent communicator and be able to work with managers and leadership at the highest levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
40% - Develop and execute strategically based, comprehensive marketing plans that support and advance key institutional initiatives and represent employer services operations across multiple departments and divisions. 
35% - Communicate and maintain strong, positive working relationships with internal contacts including leadership, department administrators and management, and administration.
15% - Develop annual marketing budgets for employer services initiatives. Make recommendations and track media, advertising and other budget items (i.e. collateral) within budget parameters.
10% - Responsible for identifying, reporting and analyzing key performance indicators using a variety of applications, such as online and offline marketing,
 
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare, Journalism, English or a related field.
  • 7 years of overall marketing experience plus 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
