Classification: Collections Specialist
Compensation: $15.04 to $17.41 hourly

This long-term contract / temporary role is for a Collections Specialist who wants to work in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area.
Your responsibilities
- Log all customer payments to the correct reports
- Update customer files to ensure data integrity
- Comply with all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Act as mediator in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
- Head all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines
- Process bankruptcy filings correctly when received
- Attend to inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
- Ensure payments are processed

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred- Ability to analyze customer accounts and make decisions based on those analyses
- 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience using accounting software
- Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Aging Reports experience
- Adeptness in Billing Collection
- Expertise in Commercial Collections
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Billing
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial collections
