Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensuring timely renewal of licenses and certifications.
  • Compiling and maintaining current and accurate data for all providers.
  • Completing provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitor applications and follow up as needed. Maintaining copies of current state licenses, certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
  • Maintaining corporate provider contract files.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current health care and agency requirements for credentialing providers.
  • Setting up and maintaining provider information in online credentialing databases and system.
  • Tracking license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals.
  • Ensuring practice addresses are current with health plans, agencies and other entities.
  • Tracking license and professional liability expirations for appointed providers.
  • Auditing health plan requirements and regulations to ensure accurate provider information.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of provider information.

Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree
  • Certification/Licensure: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)

Two years of relevant credentialing experience

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the credentialing process.
  • Can organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills including, letters, memos and emails.
  • Display excellent attention to detail.
  • Area able to research and analyze data.
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Can establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization.
  • Are proficient use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and internet resources
