Classification: Financial Analyst
Compensation: $35.00 to $45.00 hourly
Robert Half is seeking skilled candidates for a Financial Analyst position with a Financial Services industry client! In this long-term contract position, you would have the opportunity to become a key business partner in forecasting, data analysis, and budgeting. Preparing financial data for a software conversion and assisting with the year-end budget process are the primary objectives of this role. The Financial Analyst will also advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management.

- Work next to cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
- Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively
- Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
- Work next to senior executives on long-term deep dives by developing financial models and insights into budgeting and resource allocation
- Own monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Discover the root causes of internal and external facts that are influencing performance and outcomes
- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
- Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Budget management experience
- Expertise in Data Analysis
- Advanced and practical understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Adeptness in banking and finance law
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
