Title: Electromechanical Test Engineer
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Location: Atlanta, GA


Job Description:

  • Our engineering team develops the pumps, valves, tubing, fittings, sensors, and control algorithms for futuristic beverage dispensers.
  • We are looking for engineers with broad, cross-functional skills and a hands-on focus to build automated test systems for design verification and analysis of these components in our lab.

Hard skills:

  • Experience in design & fabrication of custom electric control panels for industrial test systems.
  • Experience using National Instruments hardware like Compact RIO for control system development.
  • Product modeling and detailed drawings in CADD software (Creo preferred)
  • Engineering Change Management experience (Windchill preferred)
  • General fluid dynamics knowledge (i.e.: pressure-flow analysis, control valves, pumping technologies)
  • General knowledge of various engineering disciplines (i.e.: software, mechanical structures, circuits)
  • Statistics and Analysis of experimental data

Soft skills:

  • Communicating complex technical situations in an understandable way
  • Developing, applying and setting an example following policy and process for design consistency.
  • Assessing project scope and determining resources required to achieve project goals
  • Managing groups to achieve technical goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Stage-gate development process to cascade top level project requirements to lower level subsystem and component specifications.
  • Software algorithm development (MATLAB, Python, C, etc.).
  • Disciplined problem-solving skills using DMAIC/8D/A3 or similar methodology
  • Fluidics experience: Understanding of concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of fluidic circuits, including pumping technologies, nozzles, and flow through tubes and valves.
  • Quality Planning Disciplines: Experience in applying DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools (DFMEA, Design Verification Planning, etc.) to optimize quality and reliability of the product.
  • Understands and applies reliability, serviceability and sustainability engineering principles and concepts to meet project objectives.
  • Understands sources of variation and develops designs that are robust to these variations.
  • Support for PFMEA and process design
  • Design for Manufacturing
  • Experience in collaborating with supplier organizations to ensure the design is manufacturable within project goals.
  • Experience in technical management of suppliers. Develops and applies metrics to supplier partners as needed. Finds win/win scenarios when working with supplier partners.

 

Education:

  • BSEE, BSME, BS Aerospace Engineering, or BS Mechatronics Engineering from ABET-accredited engineering program.
