Technical Project Manager (IT Vendor)
This technical PM will oversee the discovery, documentation, review and engagement of vendors with interfaces to applications in an existing data center for the purposes of establishing vendor connectivity in a new data center.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1) Lead an effort to document all connectivity in place of existing data center environments for all hosted clients. This includes physical and logical connectivity between the data center environments of clients, other Business Unit service providers, and third-party service providers either engaged by the client or directly.
2) Define a methodology for interface discovery, categorization, requirements, and dependencies to support migration. Included is the ability to use a vendor/interface catalog as a product of this discovery as well as a tool to document vendor connectivity pre/post migration.
3) Establish and lead recurring meetings for each of the phases of project program – from Discovery through support of Migration Planning and Execution
4) Engage all vendors for awareness and become the conduit for Migration Planning and Migration Execution teams to ensure vendors have a vested interest in migration success.
5) Engage all necessary organizations to build an effective team. This would include client facing organizations, engineering organizations, technical teams, data center teams that operate with clients/service providers today.
6) Drive these teams to plan and implement for all necessary connectivity in our new Production and Disaster Recovery data centers. This will include existing connectivity, shared connectivity with other BUs, any new connectivity that needs to be established. The planned connectivity need to include current capacity as well as additional capacity for forecasted growth.
7) Ensure that all service providers adapt to new/different data center connectivity and security standards.
8) Primary focus will be on 'near real time transactions' between service providers and us. In addition, file transmissions of data between us and service providers will need to be planned for: new file transmission technology and architecture, planning for testing/transition to new technology.
9) Ensure that vendors are aware of methods of implementing and coordinating changes throughout a migration as well as successful test criteria and recovery of change if not successful.
10) This role will effectively transition into Migration Execution once the scope of this effort is fulfilled.
11) Coordinate with technical teams for delivery, configurations, and validation of new connections
12) Provide standard expected project management services: a) Tracking and publishing progress, delays, roadblocks, b) Provide ongoing status updates to program team and executive leadership, c) escalate issues, gaps or delays to appropriate leadership that can address
