RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Carlsbad, CA that is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a 100% remote position. This is a 6-month contract role with the opportunity to convert. Summary: The Lead Software Engineer will work on mission-critical software development work. We are looking for a candidate with a strong software development background as well as the capability to lead a team of software engineers by providing technical mentorship. In this role, the Lead Software Engineer will understand the technical landscape, set the direction for the team, find ways to move forward when obstacles arise. Additionally, you will work with the management on defining product and technology roadmaps, develop infrastructure capabilities, and lead engineering teams to design and deliver highly scalable software architectures that focus on improving the overall business value of our products. Additional core daily responsibilities include:- Lead Software Engineer will be participating in system design/definition efforts
- Driving software architecture/design/implementation efforts
- Lead testing approaches
- Participating in DevOps efforts
- As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be acting as the Product Owner role for a Scrum team
- Identifying processes or resources that can unblock a team
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of industry experience in developing software and leading software teams
- Expert with JavaScript and React
- Expert with cloud technologies such as AWS OR GCP
- In-depth understanding of web services
- Experience leading software development projects
- Team lead and demonstrable technical mentorship experience
- Working in a fast-paced environment using Agile scrum methodologies
- Experience with planning and tracking team activities and ability to collaborate across multiple teams
