Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for staging and moving raw material and finished goods to and from loading docks, storage and warehouse areas. This individual will load and unload shipments according to documentation and work procedures as well as participate in inventory processes.
Knowledge and skills preferred:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous forklift experience or certification
- Data entry and keyboarding skills
- Ability to read work instructions in English
- 1-3 years of experience in fast-paced warehouse setting
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Proficiency with weights and measures
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely adhering to established safety procedures
- Inspect vehicle and report any maintenance concerns
- Attendance - be present for scheduled hours and required meetings
- Maintain excellent standards for housekeeping (clean equipment and floor in work area)
- Able to work in a dynamic, flexible work environment
- Able to visually inspect and sort non-conforming material
- Maintain paperwork as required
- Cut, bale, weigh and record scrap as required by facility
- Communicate with line operators or shift supervisors regarding quality concerns
- Break relief for other Associates assigned to other lines as directed
- Adhere to work rules as described in handbook
- Other duties as assigned
