Classification: Payroll Clerk
Compensation: $16.63 to $19.25 hourly

A dynamic company in the Service industry is looking to hire a Payroll Clerk and has partnered with Robert Half to find the ideal candidate to join their team. This position will support the Payroll department with a variety of duties such as data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. To be an effective part of this dynamic team, a candidate will need to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Las Vegas, Nevada area and is a long-term contract / temporary to full-time employment role.
Key responsibilities
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Build a system of administering and distributing reports
- Manage communications with employees on timesheet approvals
- File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Previous payroll experience
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience preferred
- Payroll software experience
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Experience with garnishments payroll
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Ability to perform general ledgers entries
- Payroll tax experience preferred
- Skillful in learning new processes and systems
