The Research Associate's position will be a part of a team with primary responsibilities entailing the synthesis, purification, and characterization of compounds for both internal programs and external partners. The RA will be asked to keep diligent laboratory records, participate in project and chemistry meetings, and assist in maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment. You will be encouraged to work as part of a team of multidisciplinary scientists and engineers, while also maintaining flexibility and the ability to work independently if needed.
• For appointment as a Research Associate II, a B.S. in chemistry with at least 2 years of proven experience or M.S. in chemistry is required.
• For appointment as a Research Associate III, a B.S. in chemistry with at least 4 years of proven experience or M.S. in chemistry with at least 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience needed:
• Familiarity with modern synthetic methods, chromatographic purification techniques, and spectroscopic methods for compound identification is required.
• The ability to take initiative, communicate, and effective time management is required. Familiarity with instrumentation and automation is highly desirable.
