Classification: Accountant - Entry Level
Compensation: $20.90 to $24.20 hourly
Robert Half is seeking to hire a qualified candidate to provide the necessary day-to-day accounting support in the Construction/Contractor industry as an entry-level Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for data entry, financial statement review, and Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation. As part of a dynamic team, you will report to the Accounting Manager and have an opportunity for career growth. This short-term contract / temporary to hire entry-level Accountant position is located in North Charleston, South Carolina.
What you get to do every day
- Helping with full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Input data
- Researching and correcting account discrepancies
- Preparing monthly journal entries
- Carrying out other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned
- Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
- Helping with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
- At minimum, 1 year of relevant accounting experience
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
- An AA or BS/BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business suggested
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiations
- Proven knowledge of Create Spreadsheets
- Excel Formulas experience preferred
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Well-founded grasp of Maintain Spreadsheets
- Practical knowledge of Data Management
- General familiarity with data entry
- Quality experience with construction
- Budgeting experience preferred
- Good understanding of Construction Accounting
- Budget Processes experience
- Wide ranging experience with Construction Industry Experience
- Earlier work involving Construction Industry
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
