Classification: Accounts Payable Clerk
Compensation: $14.25 to $16.50 hourly
Robert Half has a great opportunity available for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with an organization that offers an appealing company culture among highly skilled professionals. This role will require the candidate to attend to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department and work closely with the Accounting Manager. The essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Waterloo, Iowa area and will be a long-term contract / temporary to full-time position.
Major responsibilities
- Provide support to internal business partners
- Operate full-cycle A/P
- Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time
- Execute additional tasks as needed
- Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling
- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
- Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- 1+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
- Sage 100 experience
- Sage Accounting Software experience
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
