Classification: Accounts Payable Clerk
Compensation: $18.05 to $20.90 hourly
Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. The candidate in this role will work closely with and report to the Accounting Manager. Other responsibilities include attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department,. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are integral functions for this position. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Santa Fe Springs, California area and will be a long-term contract / temporary position.
Your responsibilities
- Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned
- Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling
- Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
- Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
- Implement full-cycle A/P
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily- Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Command of data entry
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
