Event Logistics Manager at Staffmark

We are working with a client near the Warrendale area and they are looking for a temporary to hire Event Logistics Manager.  This person will be responsible for traveling to events about 40% of the time.  The candidate must be able to work in the Warrendale office.  

The Logistics Manager is responsible for operations and planning of new and current events and programs . The Logistics Manager is also responsible for identifying opportunities for decreased expenses, increasing the operational efficiency of existing events and ensuring a smooth integration of new events into operations planning.  This position provides direction and supervision of the workforce (internal/external) who specialize in delivering the operational excellence.

- Lead and coordinate all logistical aspects of conferences/ meetings/ events including pre-planning, onsite execution and post event wrap up.
- Accountable for identifying, researching and recommending opportunities to improve event logistics.
- Formalize event planning with documentation.
- Proactively manage changes in event logistics, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans and safety plans. 
- Participate in vendor selection including venue/facility, caterers, workcrew, etc.
- Responsible for effective negotiation of event contracts, including, but not limited to general service, audio-visual, facility, and other contracts as related to the events
- Oversee all aspects of project management, communication, execution, budgeting, planning, vendor management, shipping, inventory.
- Translate all event needs from Portfolio Manager into operational plans. 
- Ensure the development and execution of on-site event activities, as implemented by Sales Team and Portfolio Managers.
- Work with event marketing team to develop integrated event themes.
- Review and ensure adherence to all project documents, contracts and agreements with the ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate resources.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with 7 or more years' experience in the strategy, planning, negotiating and execution of events of all sizes with proven track record of success in event ROI and branding exposure.
Minimum five years supervisory experience required.
Hospitality industry experience preferred.
Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) or other industry related certifications preferred. Program Management (PgMP) or Project Management (PMP) Certification preferred.
