Title: Lighting Design & Proposal Engineer

Responsibilities:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Should possess or be actively pursuing qualifications for a related industry certification. Five to seven years of related experience in designing lighting projects. Requires general knowledge of lighting and electrical installations including circuitry, load, and voltage. Should be familiar with the National Electrical Code, IESNA recommended lighting levels, FEMP & IPMVP guidelines, and ASHRAE standards. Excellent fixture recognition, verbal and written communication skills, has a high level of attention to detail. Must be able to be granted access to high security facilities through various federal and state background investigations.
Understands and can apply the energy demand and maintenance requirements of various existing lighting systems and the applicable demands and requirements of proposed retrofit solutions. Understands IES Standards, light color, color rendering, lumen and lumen maintenance, lamp life, ballast factors, system wattage and efficacy of the various systems. Understands and can demonstrate the impacts of utility rates, system wattage and operating hours in the design and development of proposed alternatives. Understands the environmental, economic and quality advantages of various lighting alternatives.
Must be able to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to most levels of management. Must be capable of effectively utilizing CAD programs, word processing programs and spread sheet programs. General understanding of the requirements of electrical installations, circuitry, load, voltage and familiarity with electrical codes.
LC certification preferred.
Extensive knowledge of LED and connected lighting.
Ability to transfer, rename, and resize digital pictures. Ability to work remote over a Virtual Private Network. General familiarity with most Microsoft Office products. Proficient with Microsoft office suite and knowledge of AGI32 a plus. Ability to use iPad for field data collection.
