As Mainframe Storage Administrator, you are responsible in providing technical support in order to ensure a high degree of Customer Happiness through Service Level Agreement (SLA) & process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.
What will you do ..
- Responsible for the Management of Storage and related devices within a mainframe complex
- Initialize/Add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets
- Manage and define SMS rules and Client routines
- Perform storage management services, including design, implementation and customization of products and technology in a mainframe environment, in a Project Services business model; Project Services can be time-bound projects delivered to existing managed services clients or standalone services delivered to clients. Project services typically involve heavy interaction with the client in support of concluding the project to meet the client's requirements.
- Execute Disaster Recovery tests
- Be able to provide 24x7 coverage
Qualified candidate will be able to work on a w-2 basis with OpTech . Corp to Corp (C2C) resources are not eligible for this opportunity
Required Expertise:
- Maintain storage and backup-recovery infrastructure
- Configure storage and backup-recovery infrastructure

- Provide primary storage administrator functions for storage environment
- Maintain data backup and disaster recovery capabilities

- Evaluate vendor products related to storage and backup/recovery
- Update documentation for storage and backup environments
- Implement storage tier to enable storage reclamation
- Support backup/storage maintenance activities during approved maintenance windows
- Perform health checks on the disaster recovery and storage backup environments
- Evaluate the storage infrastructure to ensure disaster recovery readiness
- Optimize and allocate physical data storage for storage systems
- Coordinate the install of backup-recovery infrastructure
- Resolve problems related to storage systems and network storage solutions
- Resolve storage system performance issues
- Support and maintain complex storage & backup systems
- Implement backup and data storage security policies and procedures
