Title: Network Engineer III
Location: Houston TX
Job Description / Duties
- Be part of the PCN/OT Co-located Infrastructure team providing PCN / SCADA communication support for Pipeline & Power.
- Provide general support for wide-area network connecting the pipeline control center located in Houston Texas with the critical monitoring points on domestically located crude and gas pipelines.
- Wide area network technologies used include satellite (VSAT) and cellular across various providers.
- Commissioning & supporting field devices including RTU / Flow computers and supporting the local or remote communication to the centrally located Aveva OaSys SCADA system.
- Manage OT/IT network segregation including firewall support.
- liaison between SCADA applications team and Network Infrastructure teams for network and firewall support.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with controls for all OT network devices.
- On-Call or after-hours support will be required to ensure minimal operational disruptions
- .PCN Network monitoring and support using Solarwinds, Claroty, Splunk, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Engineer with four to six years of experience.
- Networking experiences include VSAT / Cellular connecting through a private 3rd party MPLS cloud
- Cisco routers (819 / 829 devices) and switches and configuration experience
- Familiarity with network management tools including Solarwinds, Splunk, Claroty, Palo Alto, etc.
Desired qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Cisco certification preferred
- Strong understanding of Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture for Industrial Control Systems and network segregation concepts between IT and OT networks.
- Firewall management skills including Palo Alto and Cisco technologies
- Willing to travel to support disaster recovery sites; but is generally less than 10% of time.
