Classification: Payroll Clerk
Compensation: $23.75 to $27.50 hourly

A dynamic company in the Construction/Contractor industry is looking to hire a Payroll Clerk and has partnered with Robert Half to find the ideal candidate to join their team. In this position, you will be required to support the Payroll department through a number of duties including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. A candidate should be able to effectively communicate with both internal team members and outside customers as part of this dynamic, fast-growing team. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Brownsburg, Indiana area and is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment role.
Major responsibilities
- Manage communications with employees on timesheet approvals
- Administer and distribute reports as instructed
- Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Configure custom reports
- Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices- Prior Payroll software experience preferred
- ADP Online experience preferred
- Payroll experience
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Skillful in learning new processes and systems
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Previous payroll experience
