Project Description:
  • Support the Purchasing Manager in the Client to optimize related areas of spend for procurement activities .
  • Assist with implementing short term and long-term cost reduction strategies established by management .
  • Works with high ethical standard, in compliance with the law and the Client's policies and procedures .
  • Support development of supplier base to expand business, improve financials, reduce in-house total costs, improve quality (customer satisfaction), customer relations, and on-time deliveries .
  • Identify potential vendors and help develop strategy: RFP / RFI / RFQ / Pricing Auction.
  • Responsible for running local tenders, aligned with direction from Purchasing Manager and respective Category Manager .
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations. Improve supplier service levels by integrating agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Secures financial / saving reports .
  • Support and collect due diligence information required for evaluating and approving new suppliers, in line with the Preferred Supplier Networks .
  • Administrative support for purchasing projects and supplier management (supplier metrics and research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, monthly/quarterly reporting of KPI's, savings reporting) .
  • Uses analytical abilities to gather, analyze and establish spend baselines as a starting point for each sourcing process. In addition, they must possess the analytical abilities to perform analyses of the spend data, market data and the various supplier proposals, in order to yield fact-based decisions that address the requisite needs of the key stakeholders for the spend under evaluation.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable the Client's policies and procedures.
  • Economically and efficiently partner with the Client's R&D to execute a variety of agreements in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Responsible for working with cross functional teams including Legal to draft, negotiate and execute a variety of R&D fewer complex agreements such as SOW's, IPAs, and Services Agreements that maximize value and support R&D business needs and activities on time.
  • Understand cost drivers associated with contract types and drive negotiations that ensure the best value for quality, pricing, and service.
  • Manage effective interactions with external suppliers/partners.
  • Responsible for appropriate utilization of templates and budgeting tools/systems where applicable.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for all contract types as required by the Client's policies and procedures to ensure contract compliance.
  • Responsible for communication of status of negotiations with key internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner. Also responsible for the timely communication of contract issues to stakeholders that could impact project timelines.
  • Work closely with TA/FA's, Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance, and suppliers to resolve contract issues.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives when appropriate.
 
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Science degree is preferred but not required.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of related industry procurement/negotiations experience, pharmaceutical experience is highly preferred .
  • Must have demonstrated ability in negotiation skills, project management skills and effective communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Possesses ability to learn and utilize other software tools as necessary .
  • Strong experience with writing RFX documents and conducting vendor negotiations.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple projects .
  • Must have attention to detail along with an understanding of the quality/compliance environment.
  • Customer support focused expertise is highly desirable.
  • The ability to manage internal and external relationships is a key success factor for this position.
  • Required experiences: Conflict Resolution, Negotiations, Cost Analysis, Quality Systems and Documentation, Regulatory Issues, Compliance, Contracting Experience, Strong Communication/Persuasion, Presentation and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Experience putting together presentations not required but would be a plus.
  • Ability to pull information from a variety of sources and creating an output would be amazing .
  • R&D experience would be great and will cut down the learning curve, but highly desirable
