Classification: Property Accountant
Compensation: $22.00 to $30.00 hourly
Robert Half Contract Talent is seeking a Property Accountant for our local client. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining records of company assets, preparing and ensuring the accuracy of all ledgers, accounts, portfolios, and balance sheets. Handling local taxes, payroll, and general monthly expenses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Complete the monthly closing process for each property assigned. This includes the reconciliation of all cash accounts, creating back-up for all balance sheet accounts, and ensuring that all invoices and other pertinent information has been entered into the accounting software.
• Addressing budget v actual discrepancies
• Process and file all local taxes including sales & use tax, and occupancy tax.
• Process payables for all properties on a weekly basis.
• Prepare any ad hoc financial reports as required.
• Assist with the budgeting process.
• Work with GM's to get information when needed, raise any issues to the Vice President of Finance & Accounting Services.
• Assist with the preparation of year end documentation needed for a tax preparer or auditor.
• Perform any and all other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.
Education, Experience and Training:
• A Bachelors Degree in a related field or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an accountant
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Strong communication and people skills
• Problem-solving skills
