Classification: Purchase & Sales Specialist
Compensation: $17.00 to $17.00 hourly
Our client in the Modesto market has an immediate need for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a contract to hire basis.
Position will be reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and will be working onsite.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepares and enters data purchase orders into computer system accurately, and corrects errors in an efficient manner.
2. Maintains current pricing in computer system.
3. Maintains an updated vendor database to include vendor number, name, address, telephone number, contact name, payment terms and discount and normal lead time.
4. Contacts vendors to place orders as needed.
5. Expedite vendor purchase orders on a daily basis.
6. Assists Purchasing Manager with gathering price information for quotations.
7. Maintains purchasing files to include purchase orders, order acknowledgements and quotations.
8. Compare goods received with purchase orders and process adjustments required.
9. Verify vendor acknowledgement against open purchase order.
10. Follow up incomplete purchase orders as needed.
11. Provide support to departments as needed.
12. Operates standard office equipment efficiently to include:
- computer/printer
- photocopy machine
- calculator
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
