Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for sampling, assessing and verifying that internally manufactured products meet the Company's quality standards and will ensure that the plant is meeting all regulatory food safety guidelines and requirements with minimal supervision.
**The Quality Control Technician must be well organized, detail oriented and comfortable taking the initiative on projects.
Essential Functions:
*Understands, tests and adheres to customer requirements for product specifications.
*Ensures compliance with quality policies and objectives throughout all internal plant manufacturing departments, taking into consideration legal and quality standards.
*Responsible to assist in the development and implementation of SQF policies while ensuring company compliance.
*Works directly with regulatory agencies, as needed. Communicates with appropriate internal staff to appraise of any issues or corrective actions needed.
*Ensures and helps to oversee all Company's recall processes and procedures.
*Responsible for the oversight and assurance of all regulatory and QA process documentation.
*Plans, trains and implements performance improvements and quality assurance programs.
*Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all manufactured products including the use of raw materials and packaging materials.
*Responsible for the execution of random quality inspections on plant floor while investigating any product modifications.
*Oversees staff performance by collecting data and preparing and analyzing reports.
*Ensures data integrity while preparing and distributing internal quality reports.
Competencies or Preferred Experience:
*Excellent project management skills.
*Excellent problem solving skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong organizational skills.
*Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
*Ability to lift 40lbs comfortably without assistance.
*Must have ability to move around the production floor with ease.
*Ability to stand for several hours at a time without breaks.
*Ability to conduct sensory inspections.
*Ability to focus and perform all tasks assigned while working in a loud and fast paced environment that has climate changes.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma
