Schedule: Standard Office Hours + intermittent on-call as needed

Technical Skills in Order of Importance
1. IT Skills
- Familiar with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy).
- Demonstrated ability to install key components in equipment (line cards, NICS, memory).
- Understanding of physical and virtual connections in a data center
- Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities, diagnose and resolve problems with computer equipment (physical and virtual).
- Data Center - Infrastructure
- Basic knowledge of common items in a data center (Servers, Storage, Networking Gear, Mainframe) and how they interconnect.
- Understanding and ability install computer equipment (rack and stack blades, appliances, etc.) along with defined copper/fiber cabling per manufacturers requirements for power consumption, weight and air flow standards
- Ability to read, understand and maintain elevation drawings.
- Ability to use testing equipment; fiber testers, copper tester, common hand tools, power tools (hand held drill), server lift.
- Adherence to asset management practices.
Soft Skills/ Non-technical
- Associate's Degree (IT) or higher + minimum 4 years' relevant experience
- In lieu of degree, minimum of 6 years' relevant experience
- Aptitude and willingness to learn and document technology/processes.
- Experience working in an environment with multiple support vendors.
- Effective written and verbal communications.
- Customer support experience in a support role.
- Familiarity with safe working best practices.
- Receiving/shipping of hardware to the bunker (cabling, larger shipments, etc. to the data center.)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoots and repairs infrastructure defects that affect system performance and availability without disrupting production. Responds to users regarding abnormal system operations.
- Participates in the business recovery and continuity processes, working with others to train on recovery processes, making recommendations for changes to procedures as necessary, testing processes, and exercising the processes.
- Works with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues and maintains support relationships.
- Deploys, configures and supports infrastructure which could include building and supporting request fulfillment requiring environment changes.
- Coordinates and maintains environment changes, which includes gathering requirements for iteration changes, and procuring hardware and software for new projects and infrastructure changes.
- Monitors the infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and makes recommendations for the elimination of areas that are susceptible to failure.
- Trains and coaches less experienced staff and customers from the business areas.
- Develops processes, tools, and techniques to optimize system availability and readiness. Prepares and maintains documentation of processes, which may include creating documentation for new processes.
- Occasional travel.
- Able to work variable and flexible hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays in response to business needs.
- On call hours may be required.
