This is a contract position; however, it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. SR Product Development Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a SR Product Development Engineer will include:
- This position is for a senior level product development engineer, filling the role of a Project Engineer.
- The position shall bring expertise to the team and broad product development perspective.
- Develops designs for frame structures for truck and bus product lines.
- Coordinates and drives requirements to suppliers.
- Solves complex problems.
- Be directly involved in design release process.
- Creates, reviews, and updates standard processes and best practices
- Partners with Product Validation to determine appropriate test activities and acceptance criteria to validate Frame systems performance.
- Partners with reliability, quality, and procurement to deliver high quality products at competitive pricing.
- Reviews designs for completeness and accuracy.
- Mentors and guides fewer senior employees.
SR Product Development Engineer
Job Requirements
As a SR Product Development Engineer, you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual, and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of experience in product design/development
- Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 3 years of experience in product design/development (preferred)
- Positive Attitude, Ethics and International Values which support our company's values, and a healthy, high performance culture.
- Strong understanding of product development process
- Experience designing Commercial Truck/Light truck chassis/other lightweight structures.
- Basic understanding of truck applications and associated product requirements.
- Strong background in manufacturing processes and materials
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Understanding of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) packaging requirements in vehicle chassis.
