Classification: Staff Accountant
Compensation: $18.05 to $20.90 hourly
Robert Half is looking to bring a short-term contract / temporary to hire Staff Accountant with exceptional organization skills and know-how into a growing organization. Preference for an individual with medical billing and vendor billing experience. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
- Strong familiarity with Monthly Financials
- Solid understanding of general ledger
- Annual Budget experience preferred
- Knowledge of account reconciliation
- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Spreadsheet and database capabilities
- Experience with ERP systems
