In this fast-paced production environment, as a Mail Sorter you will be responsible for separating mail by mail class and mail numbers/codes, placing mail into boxes or into pallet boxes (gay-lords) for final packaging, and ensuring that each piece of mail is accurately and timely placed on air freight/truck to their destination.
Mail Sorters separate and group mail by zip code in accordance with USPS requirements. Staff must be able to read and interpret numbers and letter codes and have dexterity enough to efficiently sort mail pieces into the appropriate containers consistent with these codes and numbers. Must have physical strength to lift 50 pounds. All staff in this group also applies various USPS sort stickers and bar-coded tags on prepared sort tubs/containers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to stand, bend, lift and lower throughout entire work shift
- Must be able to safely lift 50lbs
- Great team-oriented attitude Dependable and flexible
- Work Days are Monday to Saturday, Sunday off
- Start time varies from 5:00 AM OR 7:00 AM
- Working hours are 6+ hours, depending on Mail Volume.
